6-Week Summer Mat Pilates with Deidre
Tuesdays, July 25-September 5 (no class on August 8)
Each Mat Pilates class will work to balance all muscle groups’ strength and flexibility, with an emphasis on challenging the core muscles with each movement. Mat Pilates is a challenging, yet safe, method to sculpt your body and increase agility in your everyday movements. Please bring a mat to class. Any other equipment will be provided.

8-Week Fall/Winter Mat Pilates Class With Deidre

Deidre is an AFFA-certified Group fitness instructor. She has been a fitness enthusiast all her adult life and instructor for 15 years, teaching at Bronson Athletic club for over 11 years and now at Borgess Health and Fitness Center. She recently completed her STOTT Pilates Reformer training after teaching mat work for over 5 years. She and her husband live on Gull Lake and have raised 4 children in the Kalamazoo area.
Joseph Pilates developed this exercise methodology in the early 1900’s to help fellow internees in a German national camp in England and, later, World War I veterans injured in the war. Later, Pilates brought his exercise to the United States. Mat Pilates is a way to stretch and strengthen your body, primarily the muscles of the core.
